Toperform this job successfully, the Maintenance Supervisor must be able toprovide leadership and manage the daily activities of their work group on theirshift. The supervisor must be able toperform each essential duty satisfactorily. Direct company initiatives within their areas of responsibility. Must listen carefully, speak clearly anddecide quickly.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for monitoring the Safety, Reliability, and Quality systems on the shift and area assigned.
Providing the area personnel with leadership and training.
To direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of equipment.
To direct personnel engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machinery.
Requisitions and work with parts room personnel to manage supply of spare parts.
Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assign duties.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving problems.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Hold weekly meetings with the employees on your shift, or area of responsibility to review goals, results and company initiatives.
Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance (MP2).
Implements corrective actions identified by key maintenance performance indicators as a means to create overall equipment effectiveness.
Remains current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
Ensures corporate policies and standards are followed in both capital project implementation as well as daily maintenance.
Responsible for the organization and utilization of materials, machinery and personnel to maximize efficiency.
To develop personnel to the extent of their desire and ability, while maintaining positive morale and teamwork.
Initiate effective lines of communication with other supervisors, management and hourly employees. To direct crewmembers in meeting plant and company objectives.
Insure that associates are provided ample time to be involved safety and/or improvement teams. Insure all safety, committee, and focus group members are back-filled to assure meeting effectiveness.
Work with production staff to insure common priorities and a smooth running operation.
Support the Safety, Quality and reliability processes, support quality initiatives by participating in daily GMP walkthroughs, area inspections and product audits.
Responsible for implementation and execution of the plants Ammonia PSM program.
